Terms of Use
The terms and conditions for using BoxCart and this website.
Last updated: April 2026.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the BoxCart website (boxcart.dev) or purchasing, installing, or using the BoxCart plugin, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or products.
2. The Product
BoxCart is a WordPress plugin that provides click & collect ordering functionality. It is offered as two builds:
- BoxCart (Free) — distributed through the WordPress.org plugin directory, free to download and use.
- BoxCart Pro — a paid build with additional features, distributed through our website. Checkout, licensing, subscriptions, and invoicing are handled by our payment and licensing partner, Freemius.
BoxCart is designed to work with standard WordPress installations as described in our documentation.
3. Licence
BoxCart’s source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPLv2+). You are free to use, modify, and redistribute the code under the terms of that licence.
BoxCart Pro licences (sold through Freemius) entitle you to:
- Use the Pro build on the number of sites specified by your chosen plan (typically 1 site, 5 sites, or unlimited sites).
- Automatic updates and access to new Pro features for the duration of your subscription.
- Email support through our support page.
The Pro licence does not grant you permission to redistribute the Pro build or our branded assets (logo, artwork, screenshots) outside your own sites. The underlying GPL code remains redistributable under the GPL.
4. Subscriptions & Automatic Renewal
BoxCart Pro is sold primarily as an annual subscription. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time from your Freemius customer account. Cancelling prevents future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current term.
If your subscription lapses, the plugin continues to run but stops receiving updates and new-feature access until you renew.
5. Support
We provide support for BoxCart through our support page and documentation site. Support includes help with bugs, installation issues, and questions about the plugin’s features. Support does not include customisation, third-party plugin conflicts, or general WordPress assistance. Response times are typically within 24 hours on weekdays.
6. Refund Policy
Because BoxCart is a downloadable digital product, we operate a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of your initial purchase. If BoxCart doesn’t work for you within the first 14 days, contact us through the support page and we’ll issue a full refund — no questions asked. Refund requests made after 14 days are reviewed case-by-case and are not guaranteed.
Subscription renewals are not automatically refundable. To avoid a renewal charge, cancel your subscription before the renewal date from your Freemius account.
7. Custom Development
Custom development services are provided on a project-by-project basis. A separate agreement will be provided for any custom work, outlining scope, timeline, and cost. Custom development quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
8. Website Use
You agree not to:
- Use our website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our website.
- Submit false or misleading information through our forms.
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract content from our website.
9. Intellectual Property
The BoxCart name, logo, and brand assets are our property and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use them without our written permission. The plugin source code itself is licensed under the GPLv2+ as described in Section 3.
10. Limitation of Liability
BoxCart is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our plugin or website. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our website or products after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify existing customers by email.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
